The most suitable baby sling to carry a newborn is the long woven wrap, made of 100% cotton, very soft and gentle with babies'skin and practical to use.
A size 6 (4.60 m) is the most suitable to tie according to the majority of methods and it can be used from birth to 18 kilos. This size allows to wear your baby in a front carry, hip carry and back carry.
For curvy people, we suggest a size 7 (5.20mt), on the contrary, for puny people, a size 5 may be enough. We suggest that you wear your newborn on the front, for example tying the wrap into a Front Wrap Cross Carry FWCC.
You can start hip carrying since your baby is able to hold their head up (usually around 4 months) with this tie: Robin's Hip Carry RHC. When your baby is able to sit up (usually around 6-7 months) you can start carrying on the back tying the wrap as a Rucksack Carry.
Shorter sizes (3 and 4) are generally used to hip and back carry by carriers already owning a long wrap and wanting to buy a second sling to carry their child who is not a newborn anymore.
The compositions including linen or having a high grammage are recommended to carry heavy children. What's more, linen slings have a composition that makes them perfect during the hot season.
